Kathryn Damiano, PhD
DMin Spiritual Formation Mentor
About Kathryn
Kathryn has been a lifelong contemplative, Quaker, therapist and spiritual director. She has lived in intentional communities, including being part of an interracial ministry in a low-income neighborhood. She has taught in and founded parachurch programs in the area of in-depth spirituality, including “The School of the Spirit” and the “Academy for Spiritual Formation” under the auspices of The Upper Room of the United Methodist Church.
She lived in a tiny house on the Kansas prairie and is currently part of a community whose focus is meditating for world peace. Her doctoral work explored community as realized eschatology. For her research, she visited the remaining Shakers at that time, Bruderhof, Old Order Mennonites, Amish, Old Order German Baptists and River Brethren, as well as various Catholic Religious Orders.
She was an adjunct faculty member at bg真人 Great Plains in Kansas, where she taught “Prayer and Scripture,” “Human Spiritual Development,” and other spiritually related courses. Recently, a former directee (whom she companioned in spiritual direction) asked her to serve as a mentor on his D.Min. Committee.
She is a relational person, who listens and encourages and will hold students accountable as well.
