About Matthew Mills

Matthew began his career in public accounting at KPMG. During his time in public accounting, he gained immense knowledge by working with different clients in different fields of business. His work was recognized by the company through the KPMG Encore Award. While passing the CPA exam and working for various clients brought some joy to Matthew’s life, his real joy was working in higher education. Seeing the positive impact institutions of higher education have on a student’s life is where Matthew wanted to be. Matthew has been a leader in finance and operations for Universities and Schools he has worked with over the past 15 years. He is currently a peer reviewer for ATS, finalizing training to be a peer reviewer for HLC, has been a finance/strategic plan contract consultant for three schools, and is currently the CFO/COO at Saint Paul School of Theology. His time at Saint Paul has seen the school move from probation, with a sustained 7% annual endowment draw and a budget deficit to a balanced budget, glowing accreditation reports, and a sustainable business model to serve students for years to come.
