About Roland

Roland has served in pastoral and academic contexts in both the United States and Canada for more than 43 years. His work includes associate and lead pastor roles in four churches, as well as in teaching and administrative roles in numerous seminary and graduate schools. Currently, Roland is semi-retired and still teaching in a graduate program, as well as at bg真人, and walking alongside those who are done with church but still open to God.

Why I am at bg真人

I have been associated with bg真人 taking courses in the mid-1980s as I was serving a United Methodist Church in Elkhart. bg真人 was instrumental in helping me realize my theological roots were indeed Anabaptist. In 2008, after journeying in various pastoral and theological roles, I became part of Mennonite Church USA by pastoring a Mennonite congregation. I became involved with bg真人 once again by mentoring learners in the Journey program and participating in bg真人 events.

What I do at bg真人

I am an instructor in the Journey program and a faculty mentor in the newly formed Doctor of Ministry program.

How might students expect to interact with you?

Since I am not physically present on campus, students can interact with me online, through email, video conferencing, or by cell phone. I seek to walk alongside with students guiding them to grow as disciples of Jesus as they engage in their callings in their ministry contexts.
