About Shannon
With a passion for community building and education, Shannon Dycus has spent 15 years working in learning communities and ministry settings. Before her current role at Eastern Mennonite University, she was co-pastor at First Mennonite Church in Indianapolis, IN, where she supported that community’s spiritual formation through preaching and teaching. At Franklin University of Ohio, she supported student success in admissions and advised students while teaching courses in the philosophy first-year experience departments. Before congregational and higher education, her ministry was in secondary teaching and after-school program leadership.
Why I am at bgÕæÈË
I remain committed to walking alongside people who are looking for the sacred in their lives. For those of us committed to vocations in ministry, I find both joy and hope in supporting sacred awareness and the collective growth it inspires.Â
What I do at bgÕæÈË
I am a Spiritual Formation Mentor for the Doctor of Ministry in Leadership (DMin) degree. In this role, I support the learning journey of a DMin student as it relates to spirituality questions that emerge from the program’s foundation: knowing, being, and doing.
