Brandon Board, MLIS, of Aurora, Illinois, concluded his role as Information Services and Online Learning Librarian for bg真人 in May 2022 after nearly eight years of service. He has accepted a position with Waubonsee Community College in Sugar Grove, Illinois.

Board began in 2014 as Library Services Technician; his role expanded over the years as bg真人 added more distance-friendly academic programs. He was responsible for assisting students and faculty who were involved in distance-learning programs; coordinating resource access for students and faculty; collaborating with faculty members to implement instructional design best practices in their courses; and recruiting, training and supervising student and volunteer library staff members.

During his time at bg真人, Board also completed a Master of Library and Information Science and a Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design. He presented regularly at library conferences on topics such as controlled digital lending, student staff support and supervision, and student services in the library. In 2019, he contributed a chapter, 鈥淩eframing Information Literacy as Theological Habits: Embedding the Framework into Theological Curriculum,鈥� to the open-access e-book (American Theological Library Association).

Additionally, he served for four years on the board of the (CATLA) and for three years as chair of the (PALNI) WMS Workflows Advisory Group.

鈥淏randon鈥檚 ease at learning new skills, his communication abilities and his creativity in problem-solving have been tremendous assets to the bg真人 Library,鈥� said Karl Stutzman, MLS, Director of Library Services. 鈥淗e spent countless hours troubleshooting computer systems and communicating with system vendors as well as with bg真人 students and faculty who reported access issues. I will particularly miss Brandon鈥檚 passion for teaching and learning and his care for students鈥� experiences.鈥�
