LeBlanc joins bg真人 as Caterer in Residence

ELKHART, Indiana (Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary) 鈥� Ren茅 LeBlanc, BS, CFRM, began Aug. 5, 2024, as Caterer in Residence for Anabaptist Mennonite Biblical Seminary (bg真人) in Elkhart, Indiana. A native of southern Louisiana, he has spent the last four years living in Berne, Indiana.聽
LeBlanc has more than 14 years of experience in food service, including working in and managing restaurants in Louisiana and running his own Cajun food truck in Berne for two years. He moved to the bg真人 campus in July with his wife, Rena LeBlanc, who is beginning studies toward a Master of Divinity at bg真人.
In his new role, LeBlanc serves as the primary point person for all special dining events at bg真人. His responsibilities include preparing food, training and supervising kitchen aides and servers, maintaining compliance with Health Department codes, keeping track of inventory, and working with individuals and groups requesting catering.
鈥淚鈥檓 excited that Ren茅 is joining us and will offer his experience and gifts in hospitality to our learning community in his new role,鈥� said Deanna Risser, MBA, Vice President for Administration and Chief Financial Officer. 鈥淗is extensive food service background will serve us well. I have already been impressed with his administrative and organizational skills and the variety of food he is offering to our campus community.鈥�
In addition to his work in food service, LeBlanc has a passion for helping individuals recover from substance use disorder. While in Elkhart, he is continuing to work remotely as Director of Crossroads Community, a nonprofit organization in Adams County, Indiana, that he founded to provide both recovery services and recovery housing programs.
LeBlanc earned a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Aspen University, an online university based in Denver, Colorado, in 2023; and a Certificate in Fundraising Management from the Lilly Family School of Philanthropy at Indiana University Indianapolis in 2024.
His home congregation is Emmaus Road Mennonite Fellowship in Berne, Indiana.
