鈥淔rom the point I started my studies at bg真人, I knew it was going to leave a life-changing mark on me on both a ministerial and academic level,鈥 Janet reflected. 鈥淭hrough the theocultural diversity at bg真人, I was challenged, surprised, broken and remolded more into the vessel, woman and scholar who I am today. If I were to summarize my entire experience in one paradoxical sentence, it would be that it was a deconstructive reconstruction. I was introduced to multiple resources, theoretical materials and pedagogical practices that have shaped my theological understanding and have better prepared me as a young female peace theologian in a collapsing world.
鈥淢y time at bg真人 has prepared me to develop language to contribute to the discourse on theology, peacebuilding, conflict transformation and trauma intervention on both ministerial and academic levels. I couldn鈥檛 be more thankful to God, who graced me with all needed provisions through my family, friends and ministry supporters for this journey. I am also very grateful for all my professors and fellow learning colleagues. I am glad our paths crossed!鈥

鈥淢y time at bg真人 was enriching, challenging and life changing,鈥 Sarah reflected. 鈥淭hrough classes, relationships, research and worship, I was challenged to explore my embedded theologies, to ask difficult questions and to explore fresh interpretations of Scripture and theological perspectives. The last four years of my formal theological and biblical education have also encouraged me to explore voices from the margins, learning from perspectives and contexts different from my own. I am continually growing in intercultural competence and redefining my mission as a citizen of God鈥檚 inbreaking Kindom.鈥

I owe many thanks to my husband, who was so supportive of me achieving my long-awaited dream. bg真人 and other churches also played a big role in supporting my stay as well as my studies at the seminary.
鈥淚 have learned a lot through integrating being, knowing and doing. The seminary has equipped me with a lot of spiritual practices and disciplines, which are so helpful on my faith journey. I can say just like Paul in Philippians 3:12, 鈥業 do not proclaim that I have already reached [my goal] 鈥 .鈥 Now it is my time to press on, despite the challenges that are ahead of me. 鈥淚 also had challenging moments at bg真人 that fostered more productive self-reflection and transformation. Engaging my own background and tradition especially with contemporary Anabaptism was sometimes confusing and painful.
